〜二代目（松皮菱柄）〜
松皮菱（まつかわびし）は、松の皮を剥いだ形に似た菱形の連続模様。力強く、まっすぐに伸びるその姿から、成長や繁栄を願う縁起柄として古くから用いられてきました。武家の装束や神社仏閣の装飾にも見られる格式ある文様です。

※手ぬぐいのデザインは、祖父が持っていたアーカイブ資料『江戸自慢』を参考に、wanonunoオリジナル用にサンプリングしました。

インクジェットプリントでもなく顔料プリントでもなく、日本古来に伝わる伝統の注染で仕上げたwanonunoオリジナル手ぬぐい。染めの手ぬぐいは7～8割が注染という染め方を採用しています。30-40枚折り重ねて染料を垂らすという昔ながらの手法は、型版を作るところから始まり、細かな柄の再現が非常に難しいのも特徴。手作業の染めならではのかすれや色が生地裏までしっかりと通り、柔らかな風合いが魅力です。

＜注染の特徴＞

〇糸自体を染めるため、裏表のないきれいな染め表現が可能

＜お取り扱い上の注意＞
・手ぬぐいの性質上、端は切りっぱなしのためお使い始めはほつれがございますが、自然に落ち着きます。
・手染め（昔ながらの手作業）のため、色落ち・色移り場合があります。
・洗濯は、単独で手洗いしてください。
・洗剤を使用の際は、中性洗剤をご使用の上、漂白剤は避けてください。
・長時間つけおきは避けて、皺を伸ばし、日陰で干してください。

– Nidaime (Second Generation – Matsukawabishi Pattern) –
Matsukawabishi is a traditional Japanese pattern featuring diamond shapes that resemble the peeled bark of a pine tree. Its strong, straight lines symbolize growth and prosperity, and the pattern has long been used on samurai garments and in the decorative details of shrines and temples.

Available in two colors: purple and yellow

The design is based on archival materials from my grandfather’s collection, Edo Jiman, and reinterpreted as a wanonuno original

Unlike inkjet or pigment printing, this tenugui is dyed using “chusen,” a traditional Japanese technique that dates back centuries. Chusen accounts for 70–80% of dyed tenugui today. In this method, 30–40 pieces are layered, and dye is poured from above—a time-honored process starting with handmade stencils. It allows for intricate designs, though it requires exceptional skill. The dye penetrates through to the back, creating a soft texture and natural irregularities unique to handwork.

Hand-dyed by skilled artisans, this chusen tenugui can be used in more ways than you might expect—wiping hands or sweat, polishing screens, or simply styling. Add a touch of traditional Japan to your modern wardrobe and enjoy a stylish tenugui life.
